There is always something new. I know that this product has been out for a while now but I have to say that if I loved to drink soda on a daily basis, will definitely buy this product in the near future. The reason why I would probably recommend this product to someone is because it is right up the "go green" ally. Buying this product reduces the amount of plastic bottles and cans being used. Also to the soda drinkers, this product saves you a lot of money. Calculating the amount of money you spend a yea on bottles and cans of soda turns out to be more expensive than buying this product. However, personally I do not drink a lot of soda, so it probably wouldn't make a difference to me whether or not I would buy this product. Therefore, I can't give you a "personal review" on this product, but from what I've seen and heard...this product seems like a great investment. However If you don't drink soda, this product will be a waste of money.

Consumers Recycling More Batteries in 2011

Call2Recycle’s Battery Collections Surge 13.1%

ATLANTA (January 5, 2012)

– More and more consumers are recycling their batteries according to Call2Recycle®, the North American leader in consumer battery recycling. Today it announced a 13.1 percent increase in 2011 battery collections (over 2010), collecting more than 7.6 million pounds (3.45 million kilograms) of rechargeable batteries (the equivalent to the weight of 278 school buses) through a network of over 30,000 retail, business and municipal locations throughout the United States and Canada.
In the United States, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Texas experienced strong growth in rechargeable battery collections in 2011, while Georgia, Mississippi and Colorado collected fewer batteries in 2011 than 2010. Within those states, all sectors grew, but the municipality sector outpaced the retail and business sectors growing by 37 percent as compared with 2010. Canada increased overall collections (rechargeable and primary) by 17 percent and 157 percent respectively. British Columbia’s all-battery program achieved an amazing upsurge of 150 percent over 2010 collections and Manitoba experienced an even greater increase – 211 percent. In both the United States and Canada, healthcare, e-waste and the home improvement markets continued to see significant increases in collections. “We continue to focus on encouraging more consumers to recycle batteries so that we can limit the amount of virgin natural resources necessary to manufacture new ones,” said Carl Smith, CEO of Call2Recycle. “We are very pleased with our growth of collections, but we also know that we have much more to do before we can claim success.”

Dispose of Wires, Cords and Chargers Properly
By ecoRI News staff

Once you're ready to clear out that box of old cable wires, computer cords and cell phone chargers, here's where to take them. First, try to include the chargers and other attachments with the old cell phone, iPod or other electronic device when dropping it in an e-waste recycling or donation box. Many are located at electronic retailers, schools and businesses. Computer cords, such as mouse devices, power cords and USB connections to things like scanners and printers contain precious metals that can be recycled through the e-waste drop off at the Johnston landfill or at your local recycling transfer station. Rhode Island Resource Recovery Coporation suggests trashing orphaned adapters and chargers along with cable wires and other power cords. But there's a market for them on ebay and Craigslist. Also, try giving them away on Freecycle. Office Recycling Solutions also takes all unwanted cords, wires and cables during its collection events. Drop off bins are also located at Cartridge World stores or at the ORS warehouse, 65 Rocky Hollow Road in East Greenwich.

Walk, Bike and limit your use of a car. Walking is a great way to save money and the environment. As we all know, gas is steady rising, so it wouldn't hurt to walk if you live close to stores and shopping areas. Plus it's a good way to get some excercise.

Recycling Tip #7
Use compact fluorescent light bulbs. You could use Energy Star light bulbs to help save energy and money!

Earning the ENERGY STAR means products meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Lighting products that have earned the ENERGY STAR deliver exceptional features, while using less energy. Saving energy helps you save money on utility bills and protect the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the fight against climate change.
An ENERGY STAR qualified light bulb:
  • Saves money about $6 a year in electricity costs and can save more than $40 over its lifetime
  • Meets strict performance requirements that are tested and certified by a third party
  • Uses about 75% less energy than a traditional incandescent bulb and lasts at least 6 times longer
  • Produces about 75% less heat, so it’s safer to operate and can cut energy costs associated with home cooling
  • Learn more about the difference of ENERGY STAR qualified light bulbs

Recycling Tip #8
Today's recycling tip is to carry a water bottle. Instead of buying tons of plastic water bottles and wasting your money, you should Carry a water bottle around. All you have to do is fill up your bottle and stick in it the fridge or freezer depending on how cold you want it. Yea yea ...I know some people prefer not to drink from the tap. Well you can buy a a filter or you can take the old school rout by boiling your water and letting it cool in the fridge.
