Many people don't use skin care products because they don't know what type of skin they have therefore; they don't know where to start. Everyone's skin is different. Skin types range from really oily to really dry. Some people also have very sensitive skin and can only use certain products designed for sensitive skin or natural products that are better for their skin. You can look at charts and diagrams on websites such as Skin-Beauty.com that provide pictures about how to identify you skin, this is very helpful in identifying your skin type. Taking an online quiz is a fun way to identify what type of skin you have so that you are able to select the correct skin care products. Identifying what type of skin you have is not hard at all especially if you have oily skin. However everyone with oily skin doesn't use the same products because again everyone's skin is different. That's why we have so many different brands of produces in stores today. Also, you don't have to stick to one particular brand of skin care products. It's ok to mix and match. It’s all about trial and error when it comes to finding YOUR daily skin care regimen.

Link and article Below--->

We're excited to present this article written by top dermatologist Dr. Nicholas V. Perricone for Daily Makeover. Did you know that the foods you eat can help you look better too? Foods that are rich in nutrients, low in calories and that have myriad health benefits are called superfoods. Many of these superfoods can also have tremendous benefit for your skin. Here are five superfoods that you can incorporate into your diet now to reveal healthier, younger-looking skin. To find out what superfoods can help amp up your skincare regime, just keep reading.
Olives & Extra Virgin Olive Oil We need a source of good fats in our diet to help us absorb nutrients from our vegetables and fruits, keep our cells supple, skin glowing, brains sharp and mood upbeat. We also need dietary fat in order to burn fat. Extra virgin olive oil contains oleic acid, which helps us to absorb the omega-3s and other vitamins and nutrients from our foods.
Beans & Lentils When it comes to maintaining beautiful skin and keeping unwanted pounds at bay, beans and lentils are a body's best friend. They are very low-glycemic and unlike sugary, starchy foods, won't cause a rapid rise in blood sugar. They are anti-inflammatory foods, key in preventing dull, dry, wrinkled sagging skin and body fat.
Green Foods Green foods are young cereal grasses like barley grass and wheat grass. Nutritionally, they are close cousins to dark green leafy vegetables, but offer greater levels of "nutrient density." An ounce of concentrated green foods contains more of the beneficial phytonutrients found in an ounce of green vegetables. Green foods detoxify the body to keep skin clear and radiant.
Fish Wild salmon and other cold water fish (salmon, sardines, herring, trout, etc.) are great sources of protein, necessary to maintain and repair the body — including the skin on a cellular level. These fish are high in anti-inflammatory omega 3 essential fatty acids, which keeps skin radiant, supple and wrinkle-free, moods upbeat and brain functioning at optimal levels.
Green Tea Green tea contains polyphenols, which help eliminate inflammation-producing free radicals. Polyphenols protect healthy cells from cancer causing DNA damage, while ushering cancer cells to their death. Another remarkable finding is the power of green tea polyphenols known as EGCG to reactivate dying skin cells. Researchers consider this reactivation to be a potential benefit to skin diseases such as psoriasis, ulcers, rosacea, wounds — and wrinkles.
What do you think about this particular tip? Would you consider putting these 5 "Supperfoods" into your diet?

My Hair Story......
Hair Care can be a difficult task. Being that I have naturally curly hair, I am constantly searching and trying products. Sometimes my hair gets to be annoying but all in all I love it. However, a few years ago I had mixed feelings about my hair. I used to think straight hair was better, therefore in my Jr. High and High School days I would beg my mama to straighten my hair all the time, not knowing that it did more harm than good. My mama would tell me that I shouldn't straighten my hair all the time but I didn't listen. I was insecure about my hair and I thought people would laugh at me. I didn't understand my hair like I do now. After I graduated High School, it dawned on me that I wasn't going to have my mama around to straighten my hair like I did when I was in High School. Being that my mama is a cosmetologist, she suggested that I try natural hair products. since then I haven't really straighten my hair. The only time i might straighten my hair is when i need my mama to trim my ends. For the past couple of years I have been trying different products on my hair to see what works for me. I would look on YouTube and watch videos about natural hair and I would research the products and ask my mom If she thought I should try them or not. One product that I found from YouTube had become one of my favorites. It's called Hawaiian Silky Miracle Worker 14-In-1. However the search for my hair regimen is not over by a long shot. I am constantly trying things and changing up the way I use my products.
What's your hair story?

Tip of the day:
Remember when you apply any type of heat to your hair; flat iron, blow dryer, etc.., make sure you use a heat protectant. Trust me I've learned the hard way. There are plenty of heat protectants out there to choose from. At the moment, I am using Silk Elements MegaSilk Heat Protectant Spray. This product is available at Sally Beauty. You can choose from the original one or the olive enriched one. It doesn't matter what protectant you use, as long as it does it's job by protecting you hair from heat.
