"It's the most wonderful time of the year..." I LOVE Christmas! I love the Christmas lights, Christmas music, 25 days of Christmas on ABC family, classic Christmas movies, The fall/winter fashion, getting presents, giving presets etc. Well, being the broke college student that I am, I know that the gifts I buy won't be expensive at all. It helps to be a very creative person when it comes to ideas for someone's gift. You don't have to be a super creative artistic person to make your own gifts. Personally I think homemade Christmas Cards are super cute and super thoughtful. I think It shows that a person cares a little more when they give someone a homemade gift. After all it takes time and effort. However, I still like store brought gifts. Finding a gift for someone also takes a lot of time and effort. Do you like getting homemade gifts? Have you ever given or receieved a homemade gift in the past? Leave a comment below. And.......

If you are a college student then you know what time it is......FINALS WEEK!!! This is the time that I dread the most. everyone is stressed about final exams and final papers. Around this time everything changes drastically. Your sleep schedule changes, your coffee and/or energy drink intake spike from about 10% or less to 100% in a matter of days, all of a sudden you blood pressure goes up, you get cranky, etc. I haven't mastered the formula to be completely stress free during finals but I will share a few tips that I do during finals.

1. SLEEP..I know this sounds crazy to some people, but I NEVER pull an all nighter. Personally I can't do it. My body starts to shut down around a certain time and studying is useless. i retain absolutely nothing when I'm very sleepy. I feel that all nighters hurt me instead of benefiting me. Usually during finals week i start studying earlier in the day time until about 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning. then I will go to sleep and wake up early to study a little before i take my
test.

2. FOOD...yes everyone loves a good snack while they study. However I avoid certain snacks because they do more harm than good. I know my body; therefore I try not to eat heavy foods that get me beyond full because I know soon I will get sleepy. I TRY (lolz) to cut down on the sugar intake. Sugary foods will get you hyper for a period of time and they BOOM you crash. It's also unhealthy for you to eat a lot of sugar in the middle of the night. Stay away from fatty/greasy foods during exam week. Personally I'm not a fan of really greasy foods so I'm good in that department. I also try to avoid chips and foods with a lot of salt. I know the cheapest and easiest thing to snack on is chips especially if you don't have anything else to eat and you are sitting in front of a snack machine. Too much salt will dehydrate you in the long run and it is very unhealthy to eat all hours of the night while you study.

3. COFFEE/ENERGY DRINKS...Personally I never drink an energy drink. However some people say that energy drinks work. I know my body; therefore I don't drink them at all. As for coffee, i drink a little bit. I never drink more than a small cup. However many people say that it helps them to deink coffee. If you like it them go for it. Personally I drink hot tea during finals. Tea is good for the body, especially green tea. However I don't recommend drinking chamomile tea because it is known for getting people relaxed/sleepy and you don't want that during finals lolz. Water is always the best choice of drink. Sodas aren't really satisfying, they just make you thirstier.

4. TAKE A BREAK...Yes it helps ALOT if you take breaks during studying. you need to relax your body and mind because over studying does more harm than good. If you study for 15hrs (+) without any breaks, you will end up overworking yourself and eventually getting yourself sick especially if you are stressed out the whole time. You can do lots of things during your little breaks such as watch a short 5min video on YouTube to get you laughing a bit, do some exercise, take a walk outside, text your "boo thang" lolz, paint your nails, get creative and draw a picture, do some laundry, hey if all means take a nap. Whatever gives your brain a break, I recommend you to do it. However, don't go to any parties haha.

5. EAT BRAKFAST… It is always good to eat breakfast before you take your exams. It is proven that if you eat before taking a test. You are more focused, and you don’t have to worry about your stomach growling during your exam.

6. PRAYING always helps me during exam week. I always enjoy a good prayer before i take my exams!

These are just a few things that help me during finals wee. Every person is different and certain things work for some that don't work for others. How do you survive finals week? You can always use some of my tips to help you survive finals week...but for a price. Just kidding. Spread the word about Beauty Marque and GOOD LUCK!

Smelling good is VERY important to me. I love it when I get compliments about smelling good. Perfume, body sprays, and scented lotions are some of my favorite things to buy. Out of the three, I like perfume the best because it is strong enough to last the entire day and you don’t even have to use a lot. My favorite perfume is Harajuku lovers by Gwen Stefani. I fell in love with Harajuku before they ever hit the stores. I saw an ad in a magazine with a scent sample and I loved it. There are three reasons why I was sold when I discovered this fragrance line. One reason is that they are so CUTE, and cute is right up my alley. Another reason why I love Harajuku is that you have five different scents and each doll has its own personality. Baby, Music, G, Love, and Lil’ Angel have different scents but they all smell delicious! The third reason why I fell in love with Harajuku is that I love the Japanese culture. I love how everything they have is cute and cuddly and I love the fashion. I also love the fact that they always come out with different themes. You have the original set of scents, then you have the If I could buy the whole Harajuku line.. I would! Not only do they have perfume, Harajuku is seen everywhere. They have makeup bags, book bags, pocketbooks, folders, clothing, etc. What is your favorite Perfume, Body spray, or scented lotion? Leave a comment below and spread the word!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

Valentine's day, the day of LOVE (xoxoxo).... well that's what everyone seems to think. I want to wish a Happy Valentine's Day to all of the couples out there. I would also like to wish a Happy Valentine's Day to all the single people out there. Valentine's day does not have to be limited to couples only. If you are single don't be depressed, (trust me it doesn't look good) pamper yourself, go to the movies, have some fun or treat your self to some V-Day candy (yumz). I suggest Original Skittles because they are BOSS, just saying lolz. I'm not gonna bash Valentine's Day and all but personally, it's just a regular day for me. especially this year because my professors gave my classmates and I a wonderful Valentine treat today......exams. That's right, I had not one, but two exams today, but I'm not complaining at all. I have my family and friends that love me and I am grateful for that. Count your blessins and don't just make one day Valentine's Day, make EVERYDAY Valentine's Day! ("everyday is the 14th")
P.S. Don't get too sick from all that candy you'll be eating!
Be safe, have FUN, and......

For your listening pleasure.... Outkast- "Happy Valentine's Day" (one of my fav. songs!)

Many people have asked me why I decided to do a blog. Well I've been thinking about doing some sort of blog or website for a long time. I just never got around to doing it. So years passed and one day I decided to brows on YouTube. I was going to watch a video and before the video started, a YouTube advertisement began to play featuring makeup guru Michelle Phan. At first I didn't pay it any attention until I saw the ad for the the third time. Finally, I decided to visit her channel & watch her videos. Long story short, I watched all of her videos, and fell in love with them, and subscribed. On one particular video, Michelle, introduced her viewers to her good friend fashion guru Chriselle Lim. I loved the colab videos they made together so I decided to subscribe to Chriselle when she created her own YouTube account. Then after I went to both Michelle and Chriselle's blogs and fell in love with the content of each blog. Months later, I came across blogger.com and I started playing around with the site and ended up creating my own blog. So there you have it. Michelle Phan and Chriselle Lim have inspired me to create Beauty Marque and y'all, my lovely readers, are my inspiration to contiune posting every week.

Michell Phan

Chriselle Lim

I encourage y'all to check both Michell and Chriselle because they are very creative and you will definately learn something new.

Piercings healing process (lip Monroe)
I thought I would do a post about piercings being that I have a few piercings myself. I don’t have anything rally dramatic. I have the standard ear lobe piercings, 2 sets of piercings. I also have a Monroe piercing. When It comes to piercings I am a fan of certain ones. I only like the cute ones. I’m not into those dramatic cheek piercings, or neck piercings. Before I got my Monroe piercing I was going back and forth on whether I wanted to get an eyebrow, a nose piercing, or the Monroe. I literally made my final decision as I was walking into the piercing place. All in all I’m satisfied with my decision. I really like my piercing. Yes I was nervous but I wasn’t scared to get it. The only thing I was nervous about was how big my lip was gonna swell up and how long it was going to stay swollen. The Aftercare wasn’t too bad at all. All I did was switch mouth washes from my usual mouth wash to a non-alcoholic based mouth wash so that it wouldn’t dry out my piercing. I also used antibacterial hand soap to clean around the outside of my piercing daily. After every time I ate something, I rinsed my mouth out with a sea salt and warm water mixture. (Nasty but helpful) As of right now I think I’m done with getting piercings, however I have been thinking about maybe getting a few tatoos. Well, I'll see what the future holds.
Do you have any piercings?  How many do you have?
